We gather, collectively, to foster our intergenerational approach to advocacy. Main stage discussions, luncheons, and the experience hall connect activists, allies, and entrepreneurs from varying backgrounds who are all committed to the same thing: thriving together. Wear Brown on May 17th to Celebrate the 69th Anniversary of the Brown vs. Board of Education Supreme Court Decision
May 17 marks the 69th anniversary of the landmark Brown vs. Board of Education U.S. Supreme Court decision de-segregating public schools. In this milestone decision, the Supreme Court ruled that separating children in public schools on the basis of race was unconstitutional. It signaled the end of legalized racial segregation in the schools of the United States, overruling the “separate but equal” principle set forth in the 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson case.
